A seemingly plain video.

This ad video would not have been immediately obvious as a safety ad video but this video should be something familiar to those who have played the "Dumb ways to Die" video game. I just found out that this video came out before the game and was its inspiration. 

What I like about this video:

- It has a humorous build-up.

-It has good quality animation.

-It nicely uses the bait-and-switch trope.

What I dislike about this video:

-It trivializes death.

-It felt like the the fact that it was made by Metro was thrown in the first time around.

-It feels jarring.

Petronas advertisement 2014



The reason why I chose this advertisement because I really like Petronas advertisement. How the angle, camera, props, the idea and creativity to create one video that inspires us every year. In this advertisement it shows a very strong emotion for showing the spirit of loving the country. Without fail Petronas show this emotion and incorporated it in a video.

Reason why I like this video:
1.       The powerful emotion of loving the country.
2.       It inspired a lot of people.
3.       How the idea and creativity incorporated in the video.

Reason why I dislike this video:
1.       On the train you can see it clearly that it’s just a video playback on the mirror.
2.       The recording of the KLCC should have dehaze so it will look more nicer.
3.       The movie of P.Ramlee it looks like a copy paste one.

Google Chrome : Hatsune Miku (初音ミク) (Ad Vid by Michael Beh)

The Best Advertisement Video ( in my opinion)

" Hatsune Miku " is a virtual singer who can sing any song that anybody composes.
It has made a massive impact on all creators through the web. They, inspired by her songs, have published their original works not only in the field of music, but in illustration, video, CG, cosplay, live performance and dance.
Besides over 30,000 original tracks, many more works are still being released over the web.
Feel the possibilities of the web through the social phenomenon caused by million creators.

This film was created with the support of CRYPTON FUTURE MEDIA Inc, SEGA, and many creators and fans from all around the world. 

The reason why I chose this video as the best advertisement is because Hatsune Miku is my most favourite Vocaloid character. In addition to that, Google Chrome is the web browser that I most familiar with, so I pick it as my ad vid title.

The 3 points that I like about the video are the uniqueness of Hatsune Miku , the spread worldwide effects and at last the video indicates about ' Everyone, Creator '.

The 3 points that I dislike about the video are the video at the end the music "Tell Your World" / livetune feat. Hatsune Miku LyricsMusic: kz ( the 'Ah , Aaaaaah ~~ ) doesn't make it reach to the top pitch makes me a little bit unsatisfied. Second, the advertisement is about Google Chrome feat Hatsune Miku but Google Chrome web browser and symbol doesn't show that much in this video. Third, even though I know advertisement should be short but the screen changes too fast makes me need to pause and see what do peoples' comments especially at 0:30.

The Best Advertisement Video (in my opinion)

Always Dare- Motivational Ad on Risk Taking!
The reason why I chose this video as the best advertisement is because it contains a powerful message that everyone needs, which is motivation. We need motivation to face the risks that is in our daily lives. This video shows us that all of us have our own personal fears. It doesn’t say that to be strong means you don’t have any fears. To be strong is to acknowledge the fears that you have and to face them, not run away from them. When you dare to take risks, the challenges will become easier and you can achieve the results that will make you happy.


Reasons why I like this video:
  1. The wonderful music. You can feel the emotions just by listening to it.
  2. The message that the video wants to highlight is very clear.
  3. It is inspiring. If it has inpired me, I'm sure it can also inspire a lot of other people.
Reasons why I dislike this video:
  1.  There is no equality (where are all the men?)
  2. I would've been nice if there were sounds from the actual background scenes, like the sound of the waves crashing and the growling of the wolf.
  3. There is too little text.

"Poster Boy"

Tutorial 1 :"Poster Boy"

 

Our next assignment have arrived.

Brief

This is a take home individual based assignment. Take photo of each of your group member and make a poster ad based on the list below. Each member will choose one from the list and each member are not allowed to do the same theme.

List of advertisement we did:
  1.  Burger King ad
  2. Event ad
  3. Adidas Shoe ad
  4. Event 

All of the pictures were taken at KDU UC field on week 4 using DSLR.


Deliza chose the Burger King advertisement. The picture was taken at KDU UC field.The image is edited using photoshop.The background was removed using "Polyganic Lasso Tool".And all the Burger King image was taken from the internet.


 Taivin chose the Event advertisement.Image wase taken at the KDU UC field.The background is removed using "Polyganic Lasso Tool" and replace with a dark colour. All text were used from photoshop and "Anti Dadah" logo was taken from the internet.


 Chun Tick chose the event advertisement.The image is a selfie.Image was cropped and pasted on comic fiesta. Chun Tick represent himself as DJ GAS on the event advertisement.




















Luqman chose the Adidas advertisment.Image was taken at KDU UC field. The background wasn't removed and the Adidas logo was pasted."Impossible is Nothing" was typed using photoshop.The image was exported to Lightroom and edited.Lastly,the image was transferred back to photoshop as PNG because Lightroom doesn't support PNG format only JPEG.
